About Me
Being in nature is my preferred classroom. Whenever I can, I take advantage of being outside. In the summer, you can find me biking in a forest preserve, kayaking on a lake or visiting a local beach. Over the winter, I'm snowboarding out west with my husband. I've always had a growth mindset and love learning new things! My family and I enjoy many activities including traveling and camping. We all share the same sense of adventure and keep busy exploring it.

When not in nature, I enjoy cooking and baking for my family. I'm always looking for new recipes. One of my favorite times of year are the winter months when I can spend time making soups and baking cookies at home. I also love reading books about new topics I am learning or researching. When not reading for school, I enjoy reading books about psychology, spirituality, leadership, health, wellness, the arts and music. As a life-long learner, there is always something new I am learning about or researching to find out more!

Over the course of my life, I have had many interests and have been privileged to have had many great experiences. From time to time, I've trained for various events such as 5K Runs, 10K Runs, Triathlons and Biking Events. For fourteen years, I studied martial arts and competed in both state and national tournaments. Music has always been a love in my life. I've sung in community choirs, taken many years of piano lessons, studied Indian Tabla Drumming, West African Djembe and Japanese Taiko Drumming. Both throughout college and beyond, I trained in classical flute performance and performed professionally. Eventually, I became specialized in recorder began presenting to both teachers and students in recorder performance and pedagogy. I've also performed with recorder consorts including the American Recorder Society in Chicago, Illinois.
